SL launches RTView For APM | BW Monitor

Press Releases, RTView, SL in the News

Corte Madera, CA – October 20, 2009 – SL Corporation, a leading provider of real-time monitoring, analytics and visualization software, today announced the general availability of RTView for APM | BW Monitor designed to take the time and guesswork out of monitoring and troubleshooting TIBCO ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks implementations. This out-of-the-box solution provides a centralized view of both real-time and historical performance metrics across numerous BusinessWorks (BW) engines and related services, processes and activities.

RTView for APM | BW Monitor enables BW users to dramatically speed the correlation of crucial troubleshooting data for BW. They can compare real-time performance information across multiple BW engines, servers, processes and activities within a single view, and can leverage historical information to provide a centralized view of BW metrics over specific time intervals. Perhaps most importantly, the RTView for APM | BW Monitor allows users to navigate and drill down through the data to analyze the history behind the metrics associated with the problem.

“Currently our BW engines are spread across multiple servers and there is no centralized view to check the utilization of all the BW engines,” commented an Application Support Manager for Harrah’s Entertainment. “Having the ability to view the historical metrics of all the BW engines will surely help for problem analysis.”

Previously, the only way to monitor and troubleshoot BW engines was to first define Hawk alerts. Support teams would then need to log into each individual BW server, look at multiple administrators, pore over log files, and/or manually correlate Hawk errors. By then, far too much time had passed since the BW engine and its associated service and processes went down.

RTView for APM | BW Monitor enables support teams to correlate, summarize and quickly analyze critical information from one central system. It provides out-of-the-box displays that show both real-time and historical BW performance metrics including, for example, server memory and CPU usage, BW engine memory usage and thread count, and process execution time. Users are also able to access summary views across multiple BW engines and their process loads.
