NTT DoCoMo Selects SL-GMS for its New Network Operation System for FOMA-3G Mobile Phone Service

ATLANTA (SUPERCOMM 2001) – June 6, 2001 – SL Corporation, a provider of software and service solutions for the development of real-time graphical and user interfaces, today announced that NTT DoCoMo, Inc. has chosen the company’s “SL-GMS” Graphical Modeling System for one of DoCoMo’s new network operation systems, DoCoMo’s 3rd Generation (3G) Mobile Communications System (IMT-2000) service called “FOMA (Freedom of mobile Multimedia Access)” which begins in 2001.

DoCoMo’s FOMA connects effortlessly at high speed to a variety of multimedia content, from anywhere, at anytime, leading to the exciting new era of mobile multimedia communications by the world’s first 3G wireless network. FOMA’s new network operation system, which monitors communication equipment and traffic, utilizes various segments of the SL-GMS product line, including C++/Developer, C++/Net, Enhanced Control Package (ECP) and the Japanese Map Conversion Tool for building its GUI.
As the graphical user interface of the new mobile communications network management system developed to enhance service with more efficient and fast network control, SL-GMS will eventually be running at DoCoMo’s Japan-wide operation centers, as FOMA service areas are extended.
