CORTE MADERA, CA – July 1, 1998 – SL Corporation was established in 1983 to develop SL-GMS, a product used by developers to create dynamic graphics displays of highly interactive applications for monitoring and control systems. Since then, SL-GMS has been used by major corporations worldwide and continuously maintains a technological lead.
SL-GMS has been distributed in Japan since January of 1991 by the same team that will manage SL Japan Corporation. They successfully expanded product applications in Japan starting with Toshiba’s “TOSHIBA TOSDIC-CIE” product as well as Japan’s major highway traffic management systems and telephone network management systems. In 1997, more that 500 SL-GMS licenses were sold in Japan. In order to meet increasing market demands in Japan the decision was made to establish a Japanese corporation to provide stronger technical support and services.
The establishment of SL Japan Corporation will bring results such as a stronger sales network, improved customer service, faster product delivery based on new and advanced technology, and a quick response to market demands.
A special Grand Opening Ceremony will be held Thursday, September 10, 1998 in Tokyo. The topic of discussion will be “Web Integration in Real-Time Control and Monitoring Systems”, including Java integration tools, a demonstration of SL-GMS version 6.0, and customer application examples.
