TOKYO 2007 – November 7, 2007 – SL Japan Corporation, a subsidiary of SL Corporation, a leading provider of real-time monitoring and visualization solutions, announced today at Measurement & Control TOKYO 2007 held at Tokyo Big Sight that the company is providing its SL-GMS Developer for .NET and SL-GMS Custom Editor for .NET products to the Information & Control Systems Division of Hitachi Corporation (“HITACHI ) for development of their .NET-based monitoring and control systems.

HITACHI develops various systems that support public infrastructures, including social, transportation, electric power & gas, and industrial systems, making a valuable contribution to the Japanese community. The company has built many monitoring and control systems for which they are now using SL-GMS Developer and Custom Editor for .NET to develop its .NET-based platform.

In order to develop Microsoft .NET-based monitoring and control systems, HITACHI needed a tool that would enable them to build real-time GUIs with various presentation options and functions quickly and efficiently, when necessary. In the increasing speed of today’s business operations, customers demand that applications are developed with the highest performance requirements and the greatest functionality – all in less time than ever before. Additionally, in order to meet the demand for reducing the application’s TCO, development and maintenance costs must also be minimized. Further, Web distribution using Microsoft .NET technology was essential to offering complete total systems management from process control to information management. HITACHI chose SL-GMS Developer & Customer Editor for .Net because it met all of these requirements.

For over 20 years, SL-GMS (SL Graphical Modeling System) has been used by the world’s leading real-time monitoring & control systems corporations – including DCS and SCADA – to develop GUI displays and provide a system-specific custom editor. With SL-GMS, you can interactively develop graphic objects with dynamic properties using the SL-GMSDraw editor independent from the application, and then immediately preview their dynamic behaviors in the same editor. These graphic models created and saved with SL-GMSDraw editor are useful among C++, .NET and Java products, enabling users to leverage their graphical assets over long periods of time, which is critical to monitoring and control systems with a decade lifecycle.

Also important, SL-GMS Custom Editor for .NET Reduce s the development time required to design applications specific to the custom editor, from years down to a few months. With this capability, displays for each application can be easily developed and maintained.
