Tokyo, Japan March 12, 2013
SL Japan Corporation, a subsidiary of SL Corporation, a leading provider of real-time data monitoring and visualization solutions, announced today that SL-GMS Developer for .NET and SL-GMS Custom Editor for .NET are embedded in the next generation of building energy management system, “Meiden Smart BEMS”, developed by Meidensha Corporation (MEIDEN).

MEIDEN is a global and established leader in environment engineering and solutions based on more than 115 years of delivering proven technologies. They provide a wide range of innovative products and engineering as well as deployment, maintenance and management solutions, to support public infrastructure such as water supply, electric power, trains and roads. MEIDEN has been using SL-GMS with its water treatment DCS (Distributed Control System) products – MEISVY-OPS5000 and MEISVY VS, and for other customer projects.

In the area of electric power and energy, MEIDEN provides solar, wind and other power generation systems as well as Smart Grid technology for effective use of energy, efficient receiving and distribution systems, and stable power supply by energy storage systems.  “Meiden Smart BEMS” is the next generation building energy system MEIDEN has developed to provide fundamental features such as monitoring and control of electric power, electricity and air conditioning facilities, and analysis and visualization.  Additionally, the product provides electricity demand forecast by time and weather, smart features for energy efficiency by optimizing energy supply control, and BCP (Business Continuity Plan) in case of emergency like a planned electricity outage.

SL-GMS is embedded in the central monitoring and control of the electric power, electricity and air conditioning facilities, for its operation displays and editing functionality. “In-house Energy Flow” display developed by SL-GMS Developer for .NET is colored graphically enabling at-a-glance understanding of the entire energy flow, from electric power systems and power generation equipment such as solar power generation systems and co-generation systems (CGS), to power storage systems, heat source systems and load systems such as lights and air-conditioners. By clicking on the equipment showing an alert, users are able to drill down to its detailed system diagram to confirm the situation.

Moreover, a custom editor specifically developed for “Meiden Smart BEMS” using SL-GMS Custom Editor for .NET enables users to edit displays with dynamic behaviors and to connect to real-time live data. This has made it possible to reduce the maintenance cost for changing and updating the monitoring displays associated with building and facility changes. Overall, SL-GMS is contributing as a part technology in a comfortable indoor environments and stable supply of electric power sources.
